Requiescant in Pace

Requiescant in Pace... Judy Millonde Apiyo and child

My alma mater used to have the slogan "at Saint Joseph's University... where people make the difference." We now have a new motto but that one still holds true. One of those people is Jack Millonde, the assistant Athletic Ticket Manager on Hawk Hill. Every season ticket holder knows Jack... and Jack knows each and everyone one of them, and all are greeted with a smile. Today though he needs our prayers.

Tragically Jack's sister, Judy Millonde Apiyo, age 24, passed a couple of days after giving birth, and sadly the baby died the same day. Funeral services for the baby were held on November 28th, with Judy's funeral today, December 5th. Jack returned to home in Kenya, Africa for the funeral this past Saturday.

Donations are being accepted to assist the Millonde family with travel and burial costs in the Office of Campus Ministry, Wolfington Hall. Checks should be made payable to Saint Joseph's University, 5600 City Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19131. Campus Ministry would also forward any letters of sympathy or Mass card to Jack as well. Eternal Rest grant unto them O Lord and may your perpetual light shine upon the Millonde family. May thier souls, and all the souls fo the faithfully departed, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
